Talk About

4th March 2014

Welcome Back....

Over the next few weeks there is lots going on around the school. Please take time to read and take in the different activities and dates that your children may be involved in.....

We would also like to welcome Isabelle Craig who will be joining the Meadows into Year 1 Dragonflies on Monday.

Poetry Day - Thursday 6th March (World Book Day)

Children have been working hard learning about poetry this term and to celebrate this along with World Book Day we are having Poetry Day on Thursday.

All children need to come dressed in something from a poem. This can be either a character, object or just something that tells what the poem is !!

Open Morning - Monday 10th March 9-11am

A chance for you to come and learn about the Great Lesson topics this term, have a look around and see what work your children have been doing. Please let Jo at reception know if you would like to attend.

The History topics for Monday mornings this term are Tudors, Victorians, Ancient Egyptians, Anglo Saxons, and Britain since 1945. Various trips to run alongside these topics have been arranged and more information will follow.

Art Show - Saturday 29th March 1.30-3.30pm

Another reminder about the Art show......... We would love to have as many people there as possible to support the children who have worked so hard on the art work going into the show. The Mayor will be in attendance to open the show and the Evening Star will be along to take photos. Refreshments will be available and also activities for the children to do. This is sure to be a great event.

Also a reminder from the MIA group for anyone who can help decorate the Portakabin on Friday 7th March. Please see Bridget - Dom & Jasmines mum for more information.

* * No Choir this week - Wednesday 5th March * * *

Apologies, but there will be no choir this week as Sam has a meeting to attend in the afternoon which may run on after school.

Friday 7th March - Year 3,4,5,6

This Friday can all year 3, 4, 5, 6 children ensure that they have waterproofs in school as they will be spending all morning working with water.

Request from Kayleigh & Laura

To assist with some science experiments this term, Kayleigh & Laura are on the look out for the following:

2L plastic bottles, gravel, pebbles, fine grained sand, coffee filters.

They would like these by Thursday night if possible to enable them to start the experiments on Friday.

Music Evening - Postponed

The music evening which was planned for 21st March has been postponed until next term. This is because the Art Show has become a larger event to organise than we anticipated.
