Letter to Parents

An Intro to the Nutrition Learning Adventure

Dear Parents,

In this learning adventure, your children will learn about nutrition and how nutrients help our bodies function and grow. They will learn about the six essential nutrients: protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, and water and why a balance between all of these nutrients is important. Your children will also learn how to make healthy eating decision in their daily lives--what foods to look for and what foods to avoid.

For this adventure, your children are going to need access to a computer and internet service. They will need to navigate through websites to do research (you may want to guide them as they do this) and they will need to email me their projects when they have completed me (they may need access to your email account if they do not have a personal one).

The purpose of this activity is to help your children understand the importance of healthy eating. When you eat healthy, you allow your body to grow and develop and can ultimately live a happier, longer and more fulfilling life!
