Duveneck Connections

Home of the Dragons-September 2, 2020

Dear Duveneck Dragon Community,

Thank you for the wonderful turnout last night for our first ever virtual Back to School Night. For those of you who were unable to attend or missed the General Meeting, here is a recording of the event, https://youtu.be/9_gLIqnPCwA.

At the General Meeting presentation, I spoke about two very important organizations that support our school program, the PTA and PiE (Partners in Education). Each entity plays a specific and vital role to support our students’ success in school.

The easiest way to understand the function of each group is this: PiE pays for people and PTA pays for materials and supplies. At Duveneck, PiE pays for all our instructional aides, Junior Science Museum Program, CASSY Counseling Program, Spectra Art Teacher, Theatre Works, and music and dance lessons for our primary students. Meanwhile, PTA pays for all of our school supplies, technology needs, teacher stipends for classroom materials, as well as supporting all of our community events and socials. Without these two organizations, our ability to provide enriching activities and amazing opportunities for community connection would be greatly compromised.

I encourage all of you to make a donation to our PTA, www.duveneck.org/store and to PiE, www.papie.org.

With Gratitude,

Leslie Crane

PAUSD Technology Use Agreement

PAUSD has created an online Technology Use Agreement. Please read and review the use agreement with your child and then sign the document via an electronic signature at the end of the form. Now that we rely 100% on the use of technology for teaching and learning, this use agreement will be one more level of ensuring appropriate and proper use of our devices and software platforms.

Thank you in advance for completing this use agreement with your clild.

Spectra Art Program!

The Spectra Art teachers are busy right now creating engaging and fun asynchronous art lessons for your children. We anticipate that the program will launch later this month at our school. I have attached two forms below that will give you more detailed information about what our online Spectra Art program will look like during distance learning.
