~ Liberty Elementary Family Newsletter ~
Welcome to Liberty's Latest, a newsletter to keep our families connected.
Liberty Families,
Our community was hit hard by last weekend's storms. If you were affected, we want to offer assistance. Please reach out to your child's teacher, Mrs. Owen (our Guidance Counselor) or myself and let us know how we can help. If you have a need, no matter how big or small, we want to help.
Please enjoy your 3 day Labor Day weekend.
Thank you for your continued support.
With love (from a distance,)
Mrs. Koehler, Principal

Return to In-Person Learning
If your child is ready to return to in-person instruction, we are ready for them! Please use this link: https://tinyurl.com/AzleISDReturn to complete the request to return to in-person learning, at the end of the 6 week grading period.
We look forward to seeing all of our students back on campus, soon!
COVID-19 Update
If your student is absent from school due to illness please email the teacher to let them know.
Our current district health and safety plan follows the CDC and Texas Education Agency Public Health guidelines regarding keeping students home or sending home students with symptoms which include:
- Temp > 100 degree F
- New onset of coughing/or uncontrolled coughing
- Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing
- Congestion/throat/runny nose
- Chills/body aches
- Nausea/vomiting, diarrhea or abdominal pain
- New loss of taste or smell
We realize that these symptoms can occur with many common illnesses or conditions such as seasonal allergies or asthma. The nurse will contact you to discuss any of these that may be caused by other conditions, the severity, your student’s ability to participate in class, current outbreaks at school, etc.
If your child gets home with possible COVID-19 symptoms, you will get an information sheet with criteria for when your student can return to campus. This includes fever-free for 24 hrs and 10 days since symptoms occurred and have improved. Your child may return before the 10 days if they are cleared by a doctor and have a note or a negative COVID-19 test and symptoms improved.
If you don’t receive a form, your student is being sent home with symptoms due to a known condition for monitoring and may return when symptoms improve. Please keep your child home if experiencing fever until 24 hrs fever-free, no episodes of vomiting/diarrhea for 24 hrs, and all over symptoms have improved.
If you have any questions or need some help deciding if your child should stay home from school or not for a symptom or illness, please contact Nurse Shawna at 817-444-1317 or sclouatre@azleisd.net
