Our Tweetcher for the Week of 2/4.....Jason Abner
Activities Director, Jason Abner, captured an amazing video that showcased our incredible students supporting (and cheering on) a player from an opposing team.
This video was by far our highest-engaging video this school year, as it reached 4,500 people! If you haven't seen this heart-warming video yet, you can view it here.
Our Tweetcher for the week of 2/11......Leslie Largent
February is Career and Technical Education month, and Leslie sent a great write-up and AMAZING pictures, highlighting some of the great opportunities provided at CTS.
This was a great example of the importance of showcasing the great programs we provide our students.

*PREPARING FOR NEXT YEAR-Preparation for the 2019-2020 school year is in progress. Forecasting staffing needs is a significant component in the process and staff resignations and retirements have a substantial influence.
The district seeks your assistance throughout the process, primarily by providing notification of a resignation or retirement as soon as possible. The district encourages early notification of resignations and retirements to enhance our opportunities in the recruitment of qualified candidates for open positions. The deadline dates for professional staff to submit a resignation or retirement notification to the district in order to receive the following monetary incentive are listed below.
*February 25, 2019 Board Meeting $500
*March 25, 2019 Board Meeting $300

Don’t forget about Navigator– the online portal that houses all of your benefit information for your health insurance. It’s also the place where you go to print off your Explanation of Benefits, the document that shows why or why not your insurance paid for a medical service.
Portal set-up instructions can be found at the end of the newsletter.
Thanks!

GET TO KNOW......Rachel Vencill
Tell us what you do in the CSD, how long you have been here and why you enjoy being a Cardinal.
I have been the Henry Elementary Nurse since February 2017. I enjoy being a Cardinal because I learn something new here every day! I love being here for all of our students, teaching them about health and wellness, and to be another person they can come to for support. I also enjoy being around the people I get to work with!
*Tell us a little bit about your family/where you are from.
I am married and I have 2 little girls, ages 2 and 7. They are my world! My husband and I, who is also my high school sweetheart, built a home on 40 acres in Windsor. We really enjoy exploring and being outdoors. I have a sister, and two nephews that we spend a lot of time with as well. I was born in Warrensburg, but my family also moved around some. We lived in Arkansas and Oklahoma, before coming back home to Missouri, when I was in middle school. I graduated from Leeton High School, and have stayed around this area since.
*What is something that is considered a luxury, but you don't know how you could live without it?
I love my Keurig- I can’t start my day without coffee! Starbucks is one of my favorite indulgences.
*What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to be a cosmetologist, but as I got older, my purpose changed and I wanted to be able to help others on a therapeutic level. I went to massage therapy school and got my license. I practiced massage for a while, and I was able to work with veterans during this time, which was very fulfilling. I also spent time working in a spa. Although I enjoyed massage, I wanted to expand in ways that I could help people, so I went to school to become a nurse.
*Best vacation ever?
We took my daughter when she was 5 months old, along with my sister and brother-in-law, on a beach vacation to Gulf Shores, AL. We got to go on a dolphin cruise, and we enjoyed lots of amazing, local cuisine!
*What are 3 things people would be surprised to know about you?
-I actually enjoy cleaning.
-I also enjoy running- I am currently training with my sister for our first half-marathon in April!
-I was a cheerleader in high school and could do 6 back handsprings in a row!
