しゅみ は なん です か。
しゅみ は なん です か。= What is your hobby?
なん or なに are both question words for “what?" Use the particle か at the end of the sentence to express that it is a question.
To tell someone what your hobby is, say: しゅみ は (insert hobby here) です。
There is a large list of hobbies in vocab this week you can reference to find your hobby.
If you wanted to say “My hobby is cooking.” You would say: しゅみ は りょうり です。
To express that you have multiple hobbies, use the particle と in between them to list multiple hobbies.
If your hobbies are video games, swimming and drawing, you can say:
しゅみ は テレビゲーム と すいえい と え です。
Before taking your quiz, please review your grammar notes and the vocabulary flashcards below:

My favorite sports team is the Stumptown Paddlers. I used to live in Portland, OR and during my time there I used to paddle with the Stumptown Paddlers dragon boat team. Dragon boat racing comes from China, not Japan, but it is a lot of fun, is great exercise, and a great way to make friends and meet new people. Here is a photo of me with my team. I'm in the back wearing the bright yellow life jacket. :)
