MESSAGE FROM DR. CHURCH
Dear Totem Falls Families,
We continue to look at revisions in the lunch routines to make it more comfortable, while maintaining the safest environment possible. One of the recent modifications is adding some wind screening to keep the breeze down. While it is still cold outside, this has made a noticeable difference. We have also been able to add some seating which will provide more spacing between students. Some lunches will have as few as three students to a table, while others will have up to five. This extra spacing really makes things feel safer as we continue to eat outside. Next week we will begin the new seating arrangement. I have included a couple of pictures below to help visualize these changes. I am looking into ways we can provide some warmth during lunches as well to see if there is a safe, effective way to do so.
I also wanted to share that the school district has made a decision regarding the modality of conferences. All parent conferences the week of November 8 will be virtual, utilizing our new best friend Zoom (not really). I understand the reasons for the decision, appreciate the focus on safety, and am disappointed we will not have conferences in person. Spring conferences will hopefully bring some welcome change.
Have a great weekend.
Craig

A NOTE ABOUT MORNING DROP-OFF
Please do not stop in the parking lot side to let your child out, this is preventing the busses from coming in to drop students off. Thank you for your help on this.
