PWSSD 2022-23 School Year Calendar At-A-Glance
We are off to a great start! It has been so fun hearing the wonderful stories of summer adventures from the students. Students and staff are settling back into school routines and taking time to build classroom community and relationships.
In the coming weeks, students will be completing a number of assessments. This information is necessary for us to measure growth and to plan for instruction. We encourage students to do their very best on all assessments to show what they know!
Thank you to all of the families that have successfully created their account in Class Dojo and have been enjoying the updates and pictures from their child's teachers! We have over 90% of parents connected in ClassDojo, but the goal is 100%. If you are not already connected with your child's teacher in Dojo, you should have received another invite today. Please take just a minute or two to set this up, as it this will be a key communication tool that the entire school is using this year.
If you cannot find the invite, please email your child's classroom teacher, or you can use this link to find the correct classroom:

We look forward to see you all on the 22nd! Please reach out to us with any questions, suggestions or concerns.
Best,
Joanna Bannon

Weekly Cool Tools
At the beginning of each semester, we hold "Positive Behavior Boot Camp". During our Boot Camp last week, every classroom rotated throughout different stations to review expected behaviors in each setting within the school (lunchroom, hallway, bus, recess, bathroom, etc.). They did a great job!
Each week throughout the school year, we have a common Cool Tool lesson that is taught in every classroom. These lessons focus on appropriate behavior and problem solving strategies to common challenges. The Cool Tool topics for the coming weeks are:
9/19 Voice Levels
9/26 Hallway Expectations
10/3 Respectful, Responsible and Safe on the playground
Ask your child to share with you some of their learning and discussion around these topics!
