Spirit Week Information
I encourage you to participate alongside our students in this fun sprint to Spring Break! Those that participate, are welcome to wear jeans as part of the fun.
Severe Weather Preparedness
Spring is frequently a time of severe weather. Please read through your information regarding severe weather and tornado shelter plans and ensure that your students know what to do in the event of an emergency. I am including some additional resources/links below for your reference.
I have 3 apps on my phone that serve as notification of severe weather as suggested by the FEMA and IEMA organizations for schools.
NOAA Radar PRO
Accu Weather
Weather.Com
I would encourage you to have more then one app related to weather installed on your phone as well.
In the event of a whole school tornado or severe weather emergency, we will do a voice announcement over the PA. All staff and students should progress to a shelter location, either in the hallways or bathrooms. Areas with walls closer together are more preferred. When reviewing this with your students please remind them that there may be more than one place they can go to depending on where they are in the building. This functions under the WIN philosophy (What I need NOW)
