The first and one of the synoptic gospels

Synoptic Gospels

Matthew, Mark and Luke.

Today I am going to talk to you about Matthew.

(synoptic means "to see the same way",

Gospel means "Good News",

so to see the good new the same way)

Gate Way Bible

Matthew 7:1- “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.

Matthew 10:7- As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’

Matthew 9:9

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth; and he said to him, "Follow me." And he got up and followed him.

In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus is shown to be a "new Moses" because Jesus teaches people how to follow God's laws in the Sermon on the Mount. He also talks about Jesus' birth.

Fun Facts:

  • Did you know that Matthew's real name is Matthew of Galilee?!
  • Did you also know the 90% of Marks stories are in Matthews?!
