Message from the President

Happy Rainy Friday!

Many of you, some mistakenly, received a notification this week about unrecorded volunteer hours. If you received the email in error, we apologize, but we'd also appreciate your patience and understanding as we weed through this archaic process. Yes, there have been years when the VP/Volunteer manager personally went in and recorded the hours of all committee chairs and room parents, but we also had a system that was easier to navigate then, too. Please do not fault the PTO or the messenger because your hours were incorrectly added, not saved in the system or not input by the PTO as a service to you. Moving forward, we will be shutting down the online volunteer hours submission and we ask that anyone who needs to add hours to their records email Jen Daulby directly to We also need you to know that you will be billed for any balance on your account, and we hope that the honor system will guide you through this process. *On a brighter note, we will be adopting a brand new Volunteer Manager software program for 2016-17 which will give our volunteers a hassle-free tool to log hours, sign up for events/tasks, and even sign-in as you enter the school & attend events as a volunteer. THANK YOU for your understanding as we try to make volunteering - and being credited for it - easier for all.

In other news: Stay tuned for the online link to order school supply kits for next year. The ordering process will be all online and STM families will have until the end of June to place an order for delivery DIRECTLY to the school the week before classes start. Kits include top brand crayons, markers, glue, etc. and everything on the STM Provided supply list (some exclusions apply, such as old socks, art smocks, change of uniform, nap towels, and the 5th Grade required 13-pocket expandable file folder).

Thank you to our Teacher Appreciation Committee - Dina Hart & Katherine Green, and all of the volunteers/donors who helped make this week so fantastic for our teachers. I hope they felt as special as we all think they are!

Warmest congratulations to our First Communicates who will be in our thoughts and prayers tomorrow, and HAPPIEST of Mother's Days to all of our wonderful STM moms.

CYO Banquet

Come Out and Support the STM CYO!

The C.Y.O. Banquet is Saturday, May 7th. The banquet will begin after the 5:30pm Mass in Burke Hall and end by 9pm. All of the STM teams and sports will be recognized and coaches will give a brief review of their seasons. If you have not done so already, please RSVP to your coach or email with the number of attendees from your family.

There is no charge for the event. However, we ask that you make a donation to the CYO at the event. If you are in need of service hours, we would welcome the help for set up and cleanup after the event. Please email if you can help. Set-up will start at 3:30pm.

We are hoping to show pictures from all of our great teams at this event. If you have pictures from your teams that you can send, please email them to or send to your coach.

"Let Them Eat Cake!"

Back by popular demand, we are excited to announce the return of a very sweet fundraiser.... “Let them Eat Cake." This event, brought to you by the very creative 4th grade bakers, will be held on May 17th. Similar to last year, we are selling raffle tickets - so look for the form via BackPack mail and at pick-up next week - for the chance to win any one of these homemade masterpieces!

Extended Day Staff Thank-You Gifts

We are coordinating end-of-year thank you gifts for the extended day staff again this year. If you are still using STM extended day and wish to participate, please send donations (along with names to include on the card) via backpack mail to Mimi Neubauer, STM Office, by Wednesday, May 18th.
