Fieldwork Process

Zone 1

In Zone 1, the water average death is between 1.30 and 1.50 metres. The observed animal that was seen above water was Kangaroos, they are small, with light brown fur and live among the long grass. The observed animal that was seen in water was fish, they were small and live in the shallow waters. In zone 1, there is plant life under the water but only on the edge and has adapted to the environment because the low water gives it better health and also it will grow and live longer.

Zone 2

In Zone 2, the present plants that are in this zone are the Gray and River Mangroves, the Grey Mangrove is a tall tree with light Gray leaves and the River Mangroves is a small tree with bright green leaves. Zone 2's soil is mostly mud and decane vegetation. All high tide will be submerged in this zone. The animal that is most observed in the day and night is crabs which live in the mud, soil.

Zone 3

In Zone 3, the two types of plant life are Sand Fire and Sea Blight. These fit into the environment because they both hold and suck up the salt so that there won't be so much salt everywhere and it can be controlled safely. In Zone 3 the ground cover is swampy like and is crowed with large trees. The zone will be submerged because of the high tide and this will effect the plant life because they will over fill with water and may die.The animal that is present in this zone are crabs.

List of plant adaptions:

  • Wabbie
  • Gum Tree
  • Stranded Giant
  • Mangroves
  • Sea Blight
  • Sand Fire
  • Grey Mangrove
  • River Mangrove Figs

Zone 4

In Zone 4, the plant life that is observed is Kikuyu grass. Kikuyu grass is a large and thick grass that lives on the non salty grounds and doesn't go into the salt area because it will die and it cannot survive in the salty conditions. In this zone the type of soil that is present is muddy, salty and dead vegetation soil. The animal that is present is mud crabs.
