Cardinal Parents, Students, and Staff:
Quote of the Week: "You show me your friends, and I'll show you your future."
Thinking about the quote above: Who are your friends? Who are you spending time with? Who are you hanging out with? Do they make you a better person? Are they by your side? Do they support you in your goals and dreams? Do they get good grades in school? Do they have high goals for themselves after high school? Do they participate in meaningful extra-curricular activities? Do they make you late for class? Can you really count on them in time of need?
We encourage you to really spend some time thinking about the people you're spending time with and have some realistic reflection about whether or not they're helping or hindering you in your pursuits. We encourage you to have this conversation as a family. There's no shame in switching up the people you're hanging around in order to set yourself up for more success now and in the future. There's also no shame in stepping up as a leader within your friend group (instead of a follower) and expecting the best out of yourself and all of them.
Let's do this! Cardinal Strong!
Remembering 9/11: This Sunday marks the 21st anniversary of 9/11. Students, you weren't born yet, but take some time to ask an adult where they were and what they felt on September 11, 2001. For many of us, the day was etched permanently into our memories and will be a day we'll never forget.
- Sept 12: What would you change about yourself if you could?
- Sept 13: What really makes you angry?
- Sept 14: What motivates you to do your best?
- Sept 15: When was a time that you were really embarrassed?
- Sept 16: What is your favorite thing about school?

- Paying for the college credit automatically starts an official college transcript with the institution offering the course that will include the student's grade earned.
- Fees apply for students who choose to enroll in a CHS course to earn college credit. There is no fee for students who take the course for high school credit only.
- College credit fees are as follows:
- Central WA University: $60/credit
- Eastern WA University: $65/credit
- University of WA: $66/credit, plus a $45 registration fee
- Courses typically earn five credits. Fees are collected by the University at the beginning of the fall semester.
- EWU does allow a payment plan for students.
- Tuition assistance is available to students who qualify for free and reduced lunch services.

Daily Bell Schedules
NEW Performing Arts Center!
We are very excited about our new Performance Arts Center! We are in eager anticipation of the day that we can fully showcase the talents of our band, orchestra, choir, drama programs, and so much more!
- Part of the "cost" for a new Performing Arts Center is going to be a little dust, a lot of change, and even a few inconveniences. Please, bear with us as we work through the "under construction" phase with an estimated completion date of the start of the 2023-24 school year.
- Student and Staff Parking: All staff and students must park together in the parking lot alongside 112th St. The section nearest the tennis courts is reserved for staff parking. The section nearest the stadium is reserved for student parking. Students and staff must drive all the way around the school to access the new student/staff parking lot. Please, do not cut through the drop-off and pick-up zone to park.
- AM student drop-off and PM student pick-up and zones. Please, do not park in the drop-off and pick-up zones between 7:30am and 3pm. The drop-off and pick-up zones will be the same for 2022-23 as they were for the end of 2021-22.
- Main Entrance: The former main entrance to the building is no longer accessible. The new main entrance is on the south end of the main building near the student pick-up and drop-off zone.
- Handicapped Parking has been relocated to the stalls in the drop-off zone nearest the new main entrance.
- Bicycle Parking has been relocated to the 1400 building (outside the band classroom).
- Pedestrians in the drop-off and pick-up zone should use the pedestrian walkway along the fence line.
- As with all construction projects, almost everything is subject to change. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
