Returning to Hybrid Learning
As you have likely heard, the district is planning to return to a hybrid learning model on Monday, February 1. This time frame allows our families and staff to arrange for childcare if necessary, and time for anyone out of town to make travel plans and self-quarantine if needed. While this is not a requirement at this time in Lake County or District 112, we will change our practices if health officials give us different guidance.
Over the summer we worked hard to create protocols and procedures at Sherwood that would ensure we could exceed the expectations regarding social distancing and safety procedures during these times. Little will change in this regard when we return in February, but we will include reminders about our procedures and expectations in the Panda Prints over the next two weeks. We will also share lists of materials that were sent home that will need to be returned when the students do soon.
We are excited to welcome our students and full staff back into the building next month!
Wash your hands.
Wear a mask.
Watch your distance.
Stay safe everyone!
Panda Pride,
Rachel & Kevin
Martin Luther King Jr. Day
In recognition of Monday's Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, the Highland Park Community Foundation is creating a Tribute video to celebrate, honor, and thank the essential workers who have made heroic efforts to keep our community safe, healthy, and operational during the pandemic. Participating is quick and easy!! From start to finish, this will take only 1-2 minutes of your time.
Click here to create and upload a short video sharing words of thanks, encouragement, and support.
Videos can be submitted any time between now and Sunday, January 24th!
District Breakfast/Lunch Resources
Any family with children 18 or younger is eligible for free meals during this time. You can pick up meals at Oak Terrace between 10:30-1:30 Monday-Friday, or you can sign up to have the meals delivered directly to your home while everyone is remote! There is no registration needed to pick up meals at Oak Terrace. This program is for all our families and is funded regardless of number of students. Your participation does not 'take away' from others being able to participate.
If you'd like to have the meals delivered to you, see the information below:
Please complete this form to join the program.
Deliveries of breakfast and lunch will be twice a week, Mondays (2 days worth) and Wednesdays (3 days worth).
- As new families apply for delivery, they will be added to the route for the following week.
- When we are back in person, remote families will still be eligible for food deliveries, and hybrid families can still pick up meals at Oak Terrace.
