Hippo Nation...Better Together! May 2020
A Note from your CCE Principal
Dear CCES Families--
For educators, May marks a time for reflection and bitter-sweet closure to a school year. We reflect upon all the learning and growth that students have made this school year and begin to wrap up our year reflecting about our successes with all of our students! During the school year, your children become our children and are part of our family!
What an unforgettable last part of the year we have had! Even though the year is ending "remotely"rather than at the campus, we wanted to share some positive thoughts and facts with our families about this school year!
1) Dual Language Programs added one more grade level (Pk-1st)
2) Enrollment numbers remained strong at 609 students at the end of April
3) Diversity make-up of our campus remains a strength and represents our community
4) Campus received a "makeover" at the beginning of the school year to honor cultures and
languages in support of our theme "Around the World" and all visitors
5) CCE began its first ever club for Baile Folklorico
6) CCE started student council to help promote student leadership at the campus
7) UIL event participants received awards and placed at the district meet in huge numbers
8) PTA fundraisers for this school year topped $18,000 which supported CCE
9) Morning and dismissal process was streamlined for safety and efficiency
10) Staff focused on Capturing Kids Hearts to build relationships with all students and each other
The list goes on and on....BUT....
The best part of our list is that we got to be part of your child's life!
