Attendance Awareness Month
Homecoming Dance - Saturday, September 22nd - 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Students who are bringing a date that does not go to Sparkman High School will need a guest form. Those are available from Mrs. Johnston in Room 405. They will need to be filled out, returned, and approved by Mr. Shaw prior to the dance

Friday, 9/28: A Storm is Coming! - Spirit Day- Seniors wear black, juniors wear red, and sophomores wear white. Students can also wear Homecoming shirts!

The SHS SGA and Honor Society were represented last Saturday by helping bag and sort 40,000 lbs of potatoes for Society of St. Andrew - Gleaning America's Fields Feeding America's Hungry.
Sparkman Media Center
Ms. Hodgens is looking for a group of students to help her with improving the library, helping with book clubs, planning and setting up events, and more. If you are interested or know someone who is, stop by the library for an application to be a member of the library’s inaugural teen advisory board
Sparkman HS Theater
A musical and theatrical revue by our Sparkman Theater students will be presented along with delicious desserts and beverages also provided.

PARKING INFORMATION
Parking decals are available to purchase for all Juniors and Seniors for $20. You may pay for your decal using MySchool fees or you can pay with cash or check.
Sophomores may turn in required paperwork and will be placed on the waiting list.
Paperwork you will need to bring:
- a copy of your receipt
- a copy of your Driver’s license
- a copy of your proof of insurance
- a completed parking application
Myschool fees - Please make sure you enter your student’s name in the space when checking out. If you are purchasing decals for more than one student please to complete a separate transaction for each student

Decals will be assigned and distributed after the first week of school. Decals cannot be transferred to another student or vehicle.
Remember, you will not be issued a decal if you have any outstanding fees (course fees, textbook fines, etc).
MySchool Fees - Online Payment System to pay for Fees
Course Fees will be available to pay online from July 25th to August 31st.
Parking Decals will be available to pay online starting July 24th.
Directions for accessing and paying on MySchool Fees:
- Go to https://sparkmanhigh.mcssk12.org/
- Select “Resources”
- Select “MySchoolFees”
- Select “Category”
- Pick “Course” and add to Cart (Repeat as needed)
- Once all categories have been selected, hit “Checkout” button and follow instructions for payment. (Do not check use billing information to create a MySchoolFees.com account)
- Click on who will “own Public Fees” and designate if the funds are for the same recipient or several recipients
- If funds are for the same recipient, identify the recipient by typing in the recipient’s name.
- If funds are for several recipients, identify the recipient by typing in the recipient’s name for each category.
- Submit and continue.
- Follow instructions to checkout
Yearbook school photo proofs were distributed today during first period. The deadline to order photos is Sept. 17. Proof and payment need to be returned to Room 127 for purchase. Make-up photos will be made on Sept. 19. If a student needs a photo re-do they will need to keep their current proof to bring to the cameras on that make-up day. If they do not return a proof, they do not get a re-take.
The Senator Yearbook is currently on sale for $70 through the end of September. Books may be purchased at Myschoolfees.com or in Room 127 before or after school. The price will increase to $75 on Oct. 1.
The senior group photo which was scheduled for Monday, September 17 at 8:30 has been rescheduled. The photo will now take place on Friday, November 2 at 8:30 in Gym 1.

Congratulations to the Sparkman volleyball team for a 3rd place finish in the Gold Bracket at the Central Hardin Tournament in Elizabethtown, K.Y.!!
Sparkman Cross Country
The Senators Cross Country team competed on Saturday at the Chickasaw Trails Invitational. This is one of the largest meets of the season with over 100 teams attending. Instead of competing at the 2 mile distance, the JV team ran 2.1 miles, but that didn’t stop SMS 7th grader Wyatt Harris and MMS 8th grader Abby Saalwaechter from BEATING their 2 mile Personal Records even though they ran further! Great running Wyatt and Abby. In the Varsity 5K events, setting new PRs were Natalie Shellenbarger, Jacob Soler, Adam Depew and Jacob Hill! Way to go Senators!

This race is affectionately called the Mud Run by the teams because they will be running through the creeks on the North end of the UAH Campus. Come out and support your running Senators.
