Better Fair Meeting

Better Fair meeting- Wednesday, September 25.

All Saunders County 4-H/FFA members, families, and volunteers are invited to a Better Fair Meeting on Wednesday, September 25. at the Saunders County Fairgrounds, 4-H Building. This is an opportunity to discuss changes for the 2020 Saunders County Fair. Please bring any changes, concerns or positive suggestions that will make next year’s fair better! This meeting is meant to be a positive conversation. Please bring your constructive resolutions with you! If you cannot make it but would like to send your comments, email Cole at cmeador2@unl.edu.

Meeting times for each area are below:

6 p.m.: Static Exhibits and Contests (ATV, shooting sports, Archery)

6:45 p.m.: Poultry, Rabbit, Dog, Cat & Horse.

7:30 p.m.: Livestock (Swine, Beef, Dairy Cattle, Sheep, Meat Goat, Dairy Goat)

State Fair Static Pick Up

If you have static projects at the state fair. You can pick them up starting on Wednesday, September 4 here at the Extension Office.


Please have all projects picked up by FRIDAY, September 13.

4H Shotgun Shooting Sports

Are you interested in learning and competing in the sport of Trapshooting?

Female and male youth, grades 6 – 12, interested in participating in club trapshooting are encouraged to contact Ashland Gun Club 4H.

Fall practice is beginning. Season runs January to May. No experience necessary. Hunter Safety Education Required.

4-H Cat Club - REVAMPED

Do you like cats? What about learning how to care for or show them? Maybe you have heard about the 4-H Cat Club in the past and wanted to join, but couldn't make the monthly meetings.

Do we have good news for you, or what? We are pleased to introduce this year's self-paced Cat Club! No more being bummed that you missed the hour long meeting every second Thursday. You will now have access to monthly lessons and activities that you can complete on your own time.

Nebraska Youth Beef Leadership Symposium (NYBLS)

The 16th annual Nebraska Youth Beef Leadership Symposium (NYBLS) at the Animal Science Complex will be held on November 8th - 10th. Registration will be online again this year and can be accessed via the link below. Please note the application deadline of September 20th. If an individual is selected to participate, a $75 registration fee will be collected at that time.
