Message from the Principal
Dear Ramsey Families:
Thank you for your support as we continue the school year in distance learning. We are excited to be starting in-person academic support at our school on Monday, February 22.
Prior to students arriving on Monday, February 22, our Ramsey teachers will be teaching students the expectations for On-Site Support. Please look for the presentation that we will be using with students in the Ramsey Weekly Update.
Here are a few important details about what to expect when in-person support begins:
On-site support at Ramsey will be Monday - Thursdays. Students will come to school on their assigned day from 8:30- 11:00 a.m. Students will have breakfast and then get academic support in their Foundations class with 5-8 other students and learn collaboratively with this small group of peers. Students will be in their Foundations class for the 2.5 hours and have access to staff as resources as needed. As students are dismissed, they will also be able to grab a lunch to go! Synchronous classes will be offered afternoons Monday - Thursdays, following a similar schedule to Semester 1, but shortened. You may access this schedule on our website spps.org/ramsey or request this from your student’s foundation’s teacher.
In-person support is optional and does not affect attendance. All students will remain in distance learning as their primary learning model. In-person time will be used to support distance learning, not to teach new material.
Students must be dropped off outside school entrances. Students cannot be escorted by family members to their classrooms or anywhere else inside the building. In addition, families will not be allowed to have lunch, observe a class, volunteer, or engage in any other activities in school buildings.
Families returning to school should familiarize themselves with these guidelines, which are updated regularly and cover prevention strategies, health screening and monitoring, exclusion guidance, and the SPPS COVID-19 Reporting System.
Families should conduct a health screening every morning before sending their student to school or the bus stop. School staff will also monitor for symptoms throughout the school day. If your child is exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms, do not send them to school. Report the absence to your child’s school and submit a report to the COVID-19 Reporting System the same day for next steps.
K-12 students, staff and visitors are required to wear a face covering unless medically exempt. Everyone should provide their own face coverings whenever possible. However, masks will be available at school and on the bus for anyone who needs them.
Students who become sick during the school day will be isolated (under supervision) until they can be picked up. It is important that sick students are picked up as soon as possible to limit the risk to other students and staff. Please make sure your contact information is up to date in Campus.
Free meals will be provided to all students during in-person support. Meal boxes will still be available for pickup at schools across Saint Paul. Home delivery is available for students who are medically fragile or cannot leave their home to pick up meals.
Staff and students will be adhering to the guidelines of masks, social distancing and handwashing to ensure their safety while participating in on-site support. Please feel free to contact me at 651-276-0038 or email me at email@example.com with any questions you have.

More on Anxiety...
Peace is already within you. Many people think peace is something you have to look for outside of ourselves or work very hard to create within ourselves. Actually, peace is a natural state of being that is already within us; it is just hidden by all of the stress and tension we take in and focus on. You simply need to regularly peel off the layers of anxiety that are covering it up. You cover up your peace every time you dwell on a stressful thought. As you go through your week be aware of the times that you hamper your relaxation by allowing in negative or stressful thoughts. So much of what we think about is in our control..
