Notes from the Principal...
I am excited to share that we are headed off to Washington DC to bring back our National Blue Ribbon Award! We will be meeting with the Secretary of Education on Tuesday to receive our banner and to proudly bring it back to GES for display! The week of November 14th we will be celebrating this AMAZING national honor! We are one of only nine schools in Indiana this year with the distinction of National Blue Ribbon! We are thankful and humbled.
We will be celebrating Veteran's Day next Friday. 3rd and 4th grade students will celebrate with the GES Choir and our Veterans in our traditional Veteran's Day Assembly for 3rd and 4th grade students. K-2 will celebrate with their class and grade levels.

NOTES FROM THE MUSIC ROOM
Veterans Day
Our 3rd and 4th graders are busy preparing for our 13th Annual Veterans Day Program to be held Friday, Nov. 11th at 9:30 a.m. in the GES Gym. Please have your students wear Red, White and Blue for this special program. All of our families are invited, and especially our Veterans! Please try to invite and bring a veteran to our program!
Fourth Grade Musical
Our 4th grade Students are busy working on a Musical called "Snow Way Out!" Many students are auditioning for singing and speaking parts. You will be notified if your child receives a special part in our show. All 4th grade students will be on stage for this fun musical. Please be watching for emails and news letters from your child's class with more details about and ways for you to help with the December 14th program.
Career Day at Geist Elementary
Hello GES Parents,
We are excited to announce a fun event we will hold at Geist Elementary on Nov 18th from 9:30-10:15 - Geist Elementary Career Day.
Here is a video explaining what the career day is, why we are doing it, and how we need your help to make it meaningful to our students.
Follow this link for the interview questions your child needs to ask.
Here is the link to the signup to be a speaker at Geist Career Day.
We polled our students to find out what careers they are interested in and over the next few weeks will be communicating some of the job-holders we really want to come visit us. The students would love it if you volunteered 45 minutes of your time to come in and speak to us about what you do. Feel free to spread the word!
John Reynolds, GES Counselor
Missing Books
We are missing a few books that were on display in the library as a class project. We think some of our eager readers picked them up (thinking they were library books). Some of the books are public library books and some are part of a personal collection. Please check with your child to see if you may have these titles (as pictured): Press Here, Dog Gone School, The Little Mermaid, Star Wars Tatooine Adventures, and Go Dog Go! Please send the books with a note to return to Mrs. Many. Thank you!
Makers Space Donations
Great things are happening in our Makerspace and we need your help!
Each grade level will host a Makerspace donation month. During that month, we are asking you to consider donating some of the items listed below to replenish materials that have been used to develop critical thinkers as students explore, design, and create new products from the donated treasures. Donations can be dropped off in the “Makerspace Donations” bin located between the double doors in the front entrance foyer.
November- 4th grade
January- 3rd grade
