JET Assembly / Earth Day Celebration

On Friday, April 29th, Jamison Elementary held its monthly assembly. This month's focus was EARTH Day. After our positive awards ceremony, the GRUBS Ecology committee along with the Earth Day Committee presented an overview of Jamison's Earth Day. A new word was born..."Manyones"! This word was a take off from the 2015-2016 building theme of ONE. Students are aware that ONE person can make a difference; however, now they know that MANYONES can make a bigger impact. The day was a success! The CB Cares Foundation gave Jamison $1,000.00 for our Earth Day projects. Additionally, and more importantly, we honored the Marzo Family by unveiling the new "Mrs. Marzo's Strawberry Patch." Students, staff, and community members will now have a place to gather, pick strawberries, and remember the positive influence Mrs. Marzo had on our building.

Overall, what a great day...570 students giving back, getting dirty, and helping make our building look great!

Mrs. Marzo's Strawberry Patch Dedication

Earth Day 2016

Beyond the Strawberry Patch, kids worked hard around the school building. A "Pocket Meadow" was installed along with a Sunflower Garden.

Home and School General Membership Meeting

On Wednesday, May 4th at 9AM, we will hold our last H.S.A meeting for this school year. During this meeting, elections for specific Board positions are available. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Board President, Mr. Miller. Thank you! (rcksmiller@yahoo.com)

Spring Book Fair

The Spring Book Fair is taking place right now. Family Night is Tuesday, May 3rd from 6PM to 8PM. Please visit the Jamison website for specific information. http://www.cbsd.org/Domain/16

On a separate note, the schoolwide coin challenge for the Spring Book Fair raised $2082.20. These funds will be utilized for classroom libraries. For every dollar our school raised, Scholastic donated books to a literacy charity such as the Kids in Need Foundation.

Congratulations to our Chess players! Recently, a group of Jamison students placed second in a recent competition. Well done boys!

Volunteer Tea

Just a gentle reminder that our Volunteer Tea is being held this Friday at 9AM. A small way we as a school can say THANK YOU to all of our volunteers.

Pillow Project Donations

A group of 5th grade students want to help others in need. They are collecting new items to put into pillowcases and delivering them to a local hospital. If you choose to donate, please put the donations in the box outside the main office area on May 4th, 5th, or 6th. Items will be picked up at the end of each of those three days. If interested, please consider donating items on the below list:

  • lip balm, unused lotion, hand sanitizers / holders, new sport water bottles, fuzzy socks, stuffed animals, crossword or word search books, crayons, color pencils, pens, craft kits, bracelets, necklaces, movies, magazines, books, new games (such as; Rubix Cube, Bop-It, Simon Swipe), coloring books, and sketchbooks.

Congratulations to Ms. Young's classroom as they were the first ever Hoop It Up Minute Challenge winners! Great job reading!

Thank you!

Thank you to all the community members who contributed to the staff breakfast on Monday, May 2nd. It was so nice to walk down the hallway, see student thank you letters written to Jamison staff and take in the wonderful aroma of breakfast. A great way to start our week! The staff also thanks the community (the H.S.A) for the drawings for the daily "staff prizes"...

IRun4Life Kids Only 3K

This is a reminder to the students in the IRun4Life program. This is the last week for sign-ups for the 3K race on May 15th.
