JET Assembly / Earth Day Celebration
On Friday, April 29th, Jamison Elementary held its monthly assembly. This month's focus was EARTH Day. After our positive awards ceremony, the GRUBS Ecology committee along with the Earth Day Committee presented an overview of Jamison's Earth Day. A new word was born..."Manyones"! This word was a take off from the 2015-2016 building theme of ONE. Students are aware that ONE person can make a difference; however, now they know that MANYONES can make a bigger impact. The day was a success! The CB Cares Foundation gave Jamison $1,000.00 for our Earth Day projects. Additionally, and more importantly, we honored the Marzo Family by unveiling the new "Mrs. Marzo's Strawberry Patch." Students, staff, and community members will now have a place to gather, pick strawberries, and remember the positive influence Mrs. Marzo had on our building.
Overall, what a great day...570 students giving back, getting dirty, and helping make our building look great!

The Spring Book Fair is taking place right now. Family Night is Tuesday, May 3rd from 6PM to 8PM. Please visit the Jamison website for specific information. http://www.cbsd.org/Domain/16
On a separate note, the schoolwide coin challenge for the Spring Book Fair raised $2082.20. These funds will be utilized for classroom libraries. For every dollar our school raised, Scholastic donated books to a literacy charity such as the Kids in Need Foundation.
