We are excited to play with ice, sugar, feathers and sand. We will use red and white to make pink, and mix black and white to other colors to see the difference. We will search for hidden objects, andWe will continue to let our babies play with their food!
Math:
We will change out our class puzzles, and introduce pegs for counting and practicing those fine motor skills. We are linking our rings as we count and match the size and shapes.
Dramatic Play:
We will continue to have fun with puppets. We will drive the fire truck, catch a fish, row our boats, and catch a fish.
Social-Emotional:
We like to talk to the babies as soon as possible on things that we know they will be practicing soon. We will be introducing the language of gentle touches, friends, and taking turns. We will also continue to work on our sign language.
Gross Motor:
Our Smalls continue to climb and pull up. We will be reaching and stretching during "Baby Yoga", as we try the Tree, Giraffe, and locust

The Junior Scouts & Stuart Littles
What we're doing next month...
- Getting ready for Parent Teacher Conferences!!!
- Learning numbers and how to count
- Working on Special Mother's Day Projects
- Learning what hot and cold feel like
- Lots of sensory activities including making slime, mud, etc.
- Practicing our letters by seeing and hearing letters and letter friends in different activities
This month the Stuart Littles are excited to learn about our last three letter friends X, Y, and Z. Soon we will be able to recognize all of our letter friends. We will be doing lots of painting during the next few weeks. We be painting noodles and boxes and we will be using yarn, and zucchini to paint with. We will also be working on our fine motor skills with some sticker activities. During Y week we are going to be doing a 'Yummy or Yucky' smelling experiment. I will be bringing in different spices and small items for us to decide if it smells yummy or yucky. Everyone has been doing well at using their basic signs and we will hopefully be able to learn some new ones soon.
The Scouts & Stuarts
This month in the Scouts and Stuart’s we are learning about friends Xavier fox, Yancy Yak, and Zeke the zebra! This week we are exploring x-ray body parts, foxes, treasure hunts and a treasure chest in our sensory bin. Next week, we are manipulating yarn with several different activities and sensory tables. Then, we will be learning about different zoo animals and creating different activities.
Sawyers
April will be wrapping up our zoophonics friends and ending the month with numbers.
Our science for the month will focus on vinegar and how it reacts to pennies. We will discover how yeast works, and a fizzy experiment.
Math will be centered around ABC patterns, Gross Motor Cube with various types of gross motor activities and numbers associated with each activity, as well as number hunts around the classroom.
Sherlocks
Can you believe March is over already? The Sherlock's are looking forward to another fun month! We had so much fun learning about The Circus, Dr. Seuss, and St. Patrick's Day in March. In April, we will be discussing fun topics like Spring weather where we will be making our very own clouds and creative art out of "rain water". Since we are looking forward to warmer weather, we will be discussing Gardening and learning about and using nature to create our very own art. Finally, we will be discussing the importance of taking care of our planet and recycling in celebration of Earth Day! I hope to see everyone in class to help us count down to warmer weather!

Healthy Start Wisdom From Ms. Alisha
Spring is here! And so are allergies. But taking a few simple precautions can help keep sneezing at bay.
Case in point: Even if it’s not sunny, put on shades when you leave the house. Pollen can enter your body through your eyes, so sunglasses—particularly the wraparound kind—can help decrease your exposure. And while you’re out and about, park your car away from pollen-raining trees.

The Teacher's Spotlight!
Question: What is something you think everyone should do at last once in their lives and why?
Ms. LeAndra: I think that everyone should be a server once in their life. Maybe then people would tip better and realize how much a server does for you and wouldn't be so rude sometimes.
Ms. Corrine: Paintball because it's fun
Ms. Emily: skydive. I would NEVER do it, but I think everyone else should do it. Ya know... “living like Larry”
Ms. Jacanda: I think everyone should be a teacher and a janitor for at least one day because I feel that society doesn’t give them the respect they deserve.
Mr. Mike: Watch a sunrise over an ocean, it’s so peaceful.
Ms. Stacey: Go to church. Once is enough for some people, but you never know.
Ms. Danielle: No clue
Ms. Crystal: Do something you never thought you’d do. Step outside of your comfort zone. If that means, you go out of your way to talk to someone you don’t know or bungee jump, do what challenges you.
Mr. Andy: go to Europe
Ms. Maggie: I think that everyone should go to Disney World once in their lives. I think that everyone should go to Disney World once in their lives because it is the Most Magical place on earth.
Ms. Mikayla: Work in customer service. I think it really helps people see that everyone thinks very differently about everything. It also helps you practice holding your tongue and keeping calm in stressful situations.
Ms. Katie: I think everyone should travel outside their home country at least once in their lives. There is a whole great, big, fascinating world out there that needs to be explored.
Ms. Hailey: travel the world & get away from reality for a bit
Ms. Ericka: Something I think everyone should do once in their life is conquer their biggest fears & answer their "what if" questions by just doing it! Like nike (: #YOLO
Ms. Erin: work in customer service for a short period of time so that people will maybe think twice about who they talk to those in customer service.
Ms. Alisha: Jump off a cliff or at least a pirate ship. It’s fun!
Ms. Allison: Everyone should leave their home country atleast once and emmerse themselves in another culture.
