Choking
How to help a choking victim
- encourage them to cough up what is blocking their airway
- call for help
- while waiting for help, do the heimlich on the victim
- if they pass out lay them gently on the floor
- do mouth to mouth
Illegal Substances and Safety
Alcohol increases the risk of choking because it dulls your nerves. Their are a lot of issues with teen drinking. Many deaths have taken place because of alcohol poisoning and drinking to much alcohol in a short period of time. There have been almost 10,000 car accidents due to alcohol and/or drunk driving in the past decade. Smoking marijuana negatively impacts your senses also. KEEP ALL ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES, ALCOHOL, AND DRUGS OUT OF YOUR BODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Outdoor Safety
Always wear recommended safety equipment such as, a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads. Obey all signs and traffic signals. Have all of your senses available to you. Stay on the right side of the road and use hand signals when on the road. Be aware of cracks or bumps in the road or area that you are riding your bike in.
Minor First Aid
Thoroughly clean the wound with soap and water. You can apply a first aid ointment also. Your wound should then be covered with a bandage.
