What's Happening at DATA
Wow! Is it me or did this first week of school just fly by! Anyone else tired from such a busy week? Hearing the hallways full of chatter and seeing new friendships being made and old friendships still thriving is always a great thing to see. Classes are starting strong and the intensity will start to increase once we are done balancing classes and updating student schedule change requests.
We had our first fire drill of the year and everyone got to where they needed to be. There were a few bus snafus that are being worked out. If you were able to come to the Red, White, Blue Review, then you saw our fabulous DATA students not just once walking with DATA but with multiple other clubs and student led organizations.
This coming Tuesday, August 22nd beginning at 5:45pm in the Roosevelt Auditorium is our 9th Grade Parent Orientation. This is an opportunity for 9th grade parents to come learn "DATA 101". This opportunity is also open to any new 10th grade students who are joining DATA for the first time.
Do you know what DATA's mission is?
Our mission is to inspire tomorrow's innovators today in a service-oriented community that promotes communication, critical thinking, and creativity in a collaborative environment.
We are grateful that you have chosen DATA to be your school of choice. Everything we do at DATA is viewed through the lens of our mission for all of our students. On behalf of the DATA faculty and staff, we our excited for this new year and have many #AmazingData learning experiences planned. Stay tuned!
Until Next Time,
Mrs. Szabo

Your Class Rocks
Students chose a class rock (pet :) Then in groups they came up with a name and backstory - which was cut into sections and posted on board. The class voted until they had a name and blended story. They then chose a place in the room for their rock to live and their stories were posted.
We're Building What?
Building Structures and Connections
Skyward Family Portal
North East ISD is constantly working to improve its services to you--our parents and community. The Family Access Portal is an example of this commitment. The portal will get you access to the following resources:
- Grades
- Attendance
- Schedules
- Graduation Plans
But that's not all.
- Paperless report cards. Grade reporting is now paperless. This just doesn’t save trees, it saves you time with instant access to grades.
- Email Alerts. Get alerted for specific events for academics.
VOE Information
Take Part in an Epic Event
Transportation
That information should be accessible early next week. Please be patient with transportation once school starts; it takes a week or so to fix any kinks in the schedule.
The last Tuesday of each month is an early release day. For those days, students will not go to ICSI or CTEC. They will need to report to the campus designated location which will be announced closer to that date.
