A Note from our Head of School

Dear HTM Family,

We're just weeks away from the start of the holiday season! Not only are we looking forward to times of celebration with friends and family, we're also excited about the upcoming, long-awaited move to our new campus. We're in the home stretch now - over the next few weeks, crews are painting exteriors, installing flooring, cabinets, and fixtures, placing curbs, paving the driveway, and landscaping the property. These are the finishing touches and signal that the end of the construction process is near! We'll also be coming together to work as a community on our playground build and on our move to the new buildings, so be on the lookout for info about both of those serving opportunities.

This Thanksgiving will take on a whole new meaning as we finally approach the culmination of this project which has been ruminating in my heart for years. I am beyond grateful for the ways each of you have prayed, contributed, and participated to bring this dream to fulfillment.

As always, I'm thankful for the ways in which your children bless me on a daily basis and give such meaning to our work. We have so many reasons to be grateful.

With love,

Kate

Art of Whine: The Results

Art of Whine 2016 is a wrap! We were thrilled by the turnout for this fun annual grown-up-only fundraiser at our school. This year our goal was to raise $35,000 through ticket sales, auction purchases, and donations. We are proud to announce that we raised $38,000 - surpassing our goal! All the money raised from this event goes to supplement the salaries of our amazing teaching staff. It's one way that we can show our love and support for these highly qualified individuals who choose to work at HTM because they love our children and our school's mission, vision and values.

To our Art of Whine Volunteers - Thank you for every bit of energy, sweat, time, and effort that you put into this event. You are all amazing and we could never pull off such an awesome feat without your help. We especially want to give a standing ovation to Kathy Anderson, our PTO president, for organizing every detail and empowering our incredible team of volunteers to excel.

We hope you enjoyed Art of Whine 2016 and are excited about what's in store for us at HTM!

Thanksgiving Feast - UPDATE

At HTM, our Thanksgiving Feast is a fun opportunity for each child to contribute to the preparation of a meal for the whole school to enjoy. You'll receive a note in your child's mailbag with the item(s) he or she will need to bring to school for the feast. From Primary on up, each classroom will get to help prepare the food in the kitchen in some way. On Tuesday, 11/22 we'll get to enjoy the "fruits of our labor" as we eat the meal together.

In the past we've always invited family members to join us for our feast; however, this year we have to limit the feast to our staff and students. This is due to the increased number of students and families at our school and the very limited amount of space we have to use within the Multi Purpose Room.

Our hope is that we'll be able to include everyone again in the future, but for this year we appreciate your flexibility and understanding. We look forward to hearing all about your Thanksgiving celebrations when your children return to school after the break!
