It is with mixed emotions that we announce Mrs. Frewing's resignation from the Library Media Assistant Position (very excited for her and sad for us!). She has been selected as a middle school Health and P.E. Teacher in Lake Oswego. She is a licensed teacher and has always had a passion for student wellness. This opportunity came about suddenly, and everything happened very fast at the beginning of this week! Amy was heartbroken to leave without saying goodbye...but she said she didn't think she could handle saying goodbye to this community of students, families, and staff that she loves so much without MANY boxes of tissue!

I have posted the opening and the position closes on Sunday. After that we will conduct interviews and find the perfect person to continue inspiring a love for books in your children and taking excellent care of our library.

If you or your children would like to write her a card, I will be dropping off some goodbyes next week. We will miss her dearly!

P.S. I haven't officially told the students yet... I will have the teachers do that tomorrow.

It has been a few years since we were able to have volunteers in our building. We will be having Volunteer training on the following dates and recommend new volunteers and anyone who wants a refresher to join us.

• September 19th, 9:00 - 10:00am
• September 20, 1:15 - 2:15pm
  

We are hoping to welcome more volunteers this year. We encourage you to fill out the background check now, so that you are ready this fall if and when the teachers are needing help.

All new volunteers need to first complete an application and background check to create a profile in the system in the district-wide Volunteer Management System (myimpactpage.com). Once a profile is created, volunteers will be able to update personal information, view and sign-up for open volunteer needs, and communicate directly with the school Volunteer Coordinator.

IMPORTANT: All volunteers must provide proof of vaccination or complete a medical or religious exemption to volunteer in any K-12 school. As part of the volunteer application process, you'll be asked to upload your vaccination card or an exemption form.

EVERY family needs to apply if they want Meal Benefits for 2022-2023.

• The free meal program has ended. Income guidelines have risen significantly.
  

For example, a family of four can have a total household income of up to $83,249 and qualify for meal benefits!

1. Meal benefits application can be done online on our app SCHOOL CAFE, an account will need to be set up.
2. Make sure to apply during summer since applications from last year are expiring at the end of June.

Please consider applying if you feel your family may qualify. It is confidential, school staff have no way of knowing which students have benefits and which do not. We highly recommend families applying.
