Critical Questions
The "Plan, Act, and Reflect" cycle used during your PLCs helps you develop the six essential characteristics. This cycle centers around answering the four critical questions:
- What is it we expect students to learn?
- How will we know students have learned it?
- What do we do when students don’t learn it?
- What do we do when students already know it?
Geri Parscale, featured author on the Solution Tree Blog, notes that "Focusing on the four critical questions helps PLC teams transform thoughts into actions and helps to create an authentic learning experience for kids. When we gather data and analyze where students are so that our instruction can be tailored to meet their needs, when we are able to develop strategies based on those needs, and when we have implemented the ideas and strategies that have a purpose, we can look at the changes we have made and move forward."
This week renew your commitment to collectively answering these questions with your PLC team.
