April 25-29
Faculty Meeting & PLCs
Regular/General ed. classroom teachers will need to meet with Special Education, ELL, & Gifted, Ms. Parsons and/or your departmentalized team to determine the percentage of time that you taught eligible students this year. If you have new students who have come into your classroom during the year, please work with Ms. Kellum to determine the student's entry date. Also find exit dates for students who have moved to a different class. If you are a teacher who has changed teaching assignments this year, you will need to work with Bonnie Lanoue in Human Capital to determine the date that you changed teaching assignments. Each teacher will need this information next week to complete roster verification. Please use the time provided to have these details confirmed before next week's faculty meeting. Bring a roster of your students with the percentages, entry and exit dates for each student listed. If you are unclear, ask a teacher who completed it last year. If neither of you can answer the question, please see administration. You will be entering this into the computer next week.
MAP/MPG Testing this week
MAP testing applies to K-3rd grade students as well as all students who have been probationary promoted (4th,5th grades)
BEFORE TESTING
- Check class rosters-- if a student needs moved to another class, email Ms. Jackson
- Determine which students will test with accommodations (IEP/504/ELL) based on documentation
- Determine where you will test-- which environment is the most conducive for your students' testing experience? A computer lab? Classroom? Sign up for your time if you are using the computer lab.
- Determine what device your students will test on-- Chromebooks? Laptops? Desktops?
- Inform students when they are scheduled/expected to test
DURING TESTING
- Get students excited!! Remind them we take the MAP/MPG tests to see what they are ready to learn! It's important for them to take their time to show what they know!
- Plan for taking breaks during the test session-- we can't expect our little ones to sit for 54 questions in one sitting, so plan to administer over multiple sessions
- Monitor student progress from the proctoring screen-- are they moving too fast? going too slow?
AFTER TESTING
- Keep track of who didn't test and schedule makeups
- Check test scores to determine who needs to retest-- Email Erin regarding retesting of any students
SRI/SPI/SMI
Read in its entirety
The final testing window for the Reading Inventory, Phonics Inventory, and Math Inventory is May 2 to 12.
- All students in grades two to six should take the Reading Inventory.
- All students in grades 4 through 6 should take the Math Inventory.
- Students enrolled in a System 44 class must take the Phonics Inventory.
Second graders are given the Reading Inventory during this final testing window to provide schools with data about the numbers of System 44 classes which may be needed for the upcoming school year. Since these students have not tested before, it is highly recommended that teachers go over the How to Take the SRI PowerPoint and discuss the assessment with students before testing.
