STUDENT OF THE WEEK - Trey Martinson
I'd like to nominate Treymount Martinson for student of the week. Since the beginning of the school year Treymount has done an awesome job showing up on time, completing his daily work, engaging in class discussion, and showing respect to the teacher and the students. Treymount Martinson is on a mission, and it's evident in his work ethic and overall his presentation.
ADVISORY for October 6
Backflip Challenge
Test the students speediness of their pencils and quickness of their hands in this challenge.
The goal: Flip groups of pencils from the back of your hand in the air and catch them with the same hand. The groups increase by two pencils each time, starting with two and finishing with twelve. Complete all six catches the fastest.
How to Play: Your group will send two individuals to compete with the other advisories at the end of the period. To set up game, place the tables in a row, leaving about a foot between each one. Place two pencils on each table. You will be using only one hand to flip and catch the pencils. When the timer begins, use your opposite hand to place the first group of pencils on the back of your flipping/catching hand. Flip the pencils up in the air and catch them, then carry them to the next table. Repeat this procedure, adding two more pencils at each table, until all twelve pencils have been successfully flipped and caught. After 12 pencils are caught, timer should stop the timer. Have all students in advisory try, top two from your group will compete against the other advisories at the end of the hour.
Rules:
- Pencils must be placed with the erasers facing the same direction.
- If you drop the pencils, collect them and try again. You must complete each set before moving on to the next.
