A Principal's Perspective
Happy Fall! Putting students first, a single expression of kindness and understanding, and the concept of school family were highlighted on the world stage right here in Aggieland. I know you have probably seen the video highlights of Dr. Henry Musoma, a Mays Business School Professor and Assistant Director of the Center for International Business, helping out a single mom in his class. As you watched the video clip, did you hear key words that inspire us as a staff as well? Words such as the power of village and community where magic happens, our village is big, and "We depend on each other to make life happen." Professor Musoma knows that a faculty can establish community, yes a village. We have all felt the magic! I love the quote from the student, Ashley Robinson, "I came in entering as a student and leaving as part of the family." As you read the comments left on the Facebook page about Professor Musoma, you read about his heart, his impact, his compassion, his student focus, and more. What you won't read about is the curriculum, the content of what he taught. School family can make a difference to each of our students. As you can see at the end of the video clip, Professor Musoma takes family, school family, to heart. How big is our village for our students, parents and staff? I think our GP village is big. Our village is big!
