Western Weeks

In Denver, the National Western Stock Show is a January tradition, and at Little School our Western Weeks are a January tradition. Dress your little cowboy or cowgirl in their western attire the week of January 18th-21st. Each teacher has some fun activities planned, and our music teachers will be doing campfire sing-alongs during music class. Western Weeks give our Little Schoolers something fun during the cold month of January.

Snow Closures and Delays

Check your email and our Facebook page for the quickest information regarding snow closures, delays, and adverse weather closures. We try to make a decision regarding closures by 4:30am. You can also check the news tickers at the bottom of the screen on news channels, 4, 7, and 9 for our closure information. If Douglas County School District closes their Highlands Ranch feeder schools due to adverse weather conditions, Little School will also close. If they delay opening, we too will delay opening for the same amount of time. This is to allow our teachers time to get their own children to school. In the event of a delayed start, there will be NO Beforecare. If a storm rolls in mid-day, we may cancel Aftercare if needed.

Be sure to change out the extra set of clothing in your child's bag to warm weather clothes.

Music Class Update!

Welcome back and Happy New Year! We are excited for all the fun we will have in music this month. We are starting the year off with rhythm instruments such as bells, rhythm sticks, shaker eggs and clip clippers. Western week and campfire sing along kicks off with fun circle dancing and old time favorites likes "Home on the Range" and "She’ll be Coming Round the Mountain." We will end the month with songs about winter, ice skating and snowball fun for all the children!

We are so proud of all the children for singing so beautifully for their Christmas programs.

Kudos to all the Little Schoolers for performing so well!

Chapel songs for this month:

Robot Dance

Hear God’s Word

Ms. Laura, Ms. Sheri, and Ms. Kara
