Dear Parents,
Wow! It's January, hard to believe that the school year is half way over.
Your children have been working hard and have completed their MAPs Testing, the MAP test will be given again at the end of the year in order to see progress.
Our special area schedule has changed for the 3rd nine weeks as follows:
Monday - Music, Tuesday -PE, Wednesday -Computer Lab, Thursday - Library/Guidance, Friday -Art
Please remember to wear sneakers on Tuesdays for PE!
What we are learning this week
Math:
Fractions: Fractions and Decimals: Write a fraction with a denominator of 10 or 100 using decimal notation, and read and write a decimal number as a fraction. Compare and order decimals.
Science: Solar System
Social Studies:
American Revolution: Key Battles (Lexington and Concord, Bunker Hill, Charleston and Cowpens, Saratoga, Yorktown)
Language Arts:
Spelling tests will be given on Fridays!
Spelling Homework: All homework is to be done in the Word Study Folder
Mon. sort words and write the sort in folder.
Tues. Ladder words
Wed. sort words and write two times each
Thurs. Practice test
Reading: Guided Reading Groups, Shared reading: Wonder,
Writing: Opinion Writing: writing opinions and persuasive writing
