Exciting Plans for the Kinder Room

for 2014

3 year old kinder and 4 year old kinder

The proposal

After careful consideration and consultation with educators we are excited to propose the launch of a more formalised three year old and four year old program. We will run this program in the current Kinder room, and children will be grouped according to age and experience some icreased “structured” time and intentional teaching based on their age and stage of development.

At this stage the pre-school children (children that will be attending school in 2015) will be called Group 1 and the younger children will be called group 2.

We are currently working on a new and exciting project to name these groups and the rooms. We see this as an opportunity to embrace our indigenous aboriginal culture in our local area and reflect our centre's philosophy.

Why the change?

Due to some changes in the kindergarten room, we find we have some unforeseeable vacancies. There is little demand for this age group from the community currently, so we would like to transition some older children through the Centre, such that we free up some spaces in the youngest age group. This is where we have the greatest demand.

We know that children learn better through careful planning and consideration of the environment, the size of the group and the educators involved in their learning process.

What will this mean for my 4 year old?

This means that your 4 year old child will be grouped, cared and educated along with their 4 year old peers. Their group will be called Group 1. It will mean that your child will be taught in a more formalised 4 year old kinder program.

What will this mean for my 3 year old?

Your 3 year old will be grouped, cared and educated along with their 3 year old peers. Their group will be called Group 2. group 2 will have approximately 8-10 children per day.
