October 2021

A Message from Ms. Cimino

Our school year is off to a great start! We would like to thank everyone who participated in our Back to School Night, and those who attended our Book Fair and Miss Mindy's fundraisers. We are looking forward to a great October with our Week of Respect, Global Cardboard Challenge at Home, Halloween festivities and much more. Please make sure to check our website and to join our Remind text group by texting @hmpparents to 81010. This will help you to get the most up to date information about what is taking place at school. Additionally, please make sure your information is updated in the Parent Portal, and that you opt in to receiving text reminders. This will keep you up to date on any emergency or Covid related notifications.

As we settle in to the new school year we remind you that all instructional time is of the utmost importance. Please refrain from picking your child up early unless necessary. We also ask that all student pick up that takes place at dismissal happen on Deal Ave. If you will be picking up your child who is usually a student who takes the bus, please call the Main Office prior to 2:30pm or contact the teacher prior to that in order to make arrangements.

Halloween Festivities

This year the Potter School Halloween parade will be an in school event for students only. Due to the current restrictions we are unable to have visitors. We will film and photograph the parade, and share the footage online for families to view. Students are permitted to wear their costumes to school on Friday October 29.

Please make sure costumes are safe for students to walk around and easy for them to put on. Weapons are not allowed with costumes, please keep them home. Safety of the children is always our number one concern. We ask that you please refrain from signing your child out early on that day.
