2021 is Near!
Students will return on Thursday, January 7, 2021. Report cards will also be sent home that day. Our teachers will be having student conferences about their progress when they return. Each student will have a data sheet to compare their beginning of the year and mid-year progress. Be sure to talk with your student about their progress and goals for the last few months of school. We want our Yellow Jackets to own their learning!
It is our intent to keep school open for face to face learning so please reinforce our efforts to wear masks while at school. Students who ride the bus must wear a mask while on the bus. Schools have been asked to conduct contact tracing for COVID-19 per the Georgia Health Department guidelines. Exposure to COVID 19 is defined as within 6 feet of a positive person for 15 minutes or longer. If your student has been exposed at school Nurse Emily or I will contact you personally. If your family has been exposed to COVID-19 outside of school be sure to notify Nurse Emily or me as soon as possible by calling 706.657.6300 or emailing charitybarton@dadecs.org or emilywheeler@dadecs.org
Our media center will be receiving an update and refresh in 2021! The Board of Education approved our plan at the December Board Meeting. Speaking of the media center, I found some great books to read to our Yellow Jackets. Visit our Davis Facebook page to watch the recordings with your students each night this week.
I hope that you all are doing well and are staying safe. If you need anything during this time you can reach me at 423.718.8428. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from your Davis family!
-Mrs. Barton, Principal
