Important Information from the Health Office

Students who are feeling ill with any symptoms should stay home. Students at school who become symptomatic of any illness should report immediately to the Health Office.

If you suspect your student may have been exposed to COVID-19 and are awaiting the results of a COVID test, please keep your student home until the results of that test are available.

When students are on campus with any symptoms associated with COVID-19, we will adhere strictly to the County's Decision Tree for K-12 Schools. Quarantine/isolation periods differ depending on a student or staff member's vaccination status and/or willingness to obtain a COVID-19 test.

If your student has been fully vaccinated and would like to include this information in his/her school record to limit or eliminate the need to quarantine for any exposure to COVID cases, please send a photo of the vaccination card to our school nurse, Marie Franco (mariefranco@vistausd.org).

Interested in Serving on School Site Council?

School Site Council (SSC) is a shared governance group comprised of a minimum of twelve stakeholders including faculty and staff members, the principal, parents, and students; most members of SSC are elected by their peers. The primary role of SSC is to oversee and monitor the implementation of the school’s Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), and the group does have the authority to make decisions pertaining to how certain school funds shall be allocated.

SSC meets once per month during the school year, and meeting agendas and minutes are made public to the stakeholders of MVHS. In addition to overseeing the implementation of the SPSA, over the past several years, SSC has also played a role in the WASC accreditation process, and has allocated student intervention funds to support the MVHS after-school tutoring program, The PACK.

If you are interested in serving on School Site Council, please complete this form by Friday, August 27th.
