Mission Statement

At C. E. King High School, we believe in preparing every child to be college, career, or military ready, and helping them grow to their full potential of becoming responsible citizens and lifelong learners!

MOTTO: Education For All, No Excuses!

Dear Panther Families,

We are working hard to ensure that all systems are "go" once our students return to campus on August 17th, 2022. Each school year brings its own unique challenges and opportunities, and this year is no different. As always, we are focused on school safety--and as you can imagine, we have taken specific steps to ensure that our children and staff have a safe environment to learn and teach. My expectation from our teachers is to provide rigorous practice of our state's curriculum standards, and utilize our state-of-the-art school facility to prepare our students to be college, career, or military ready.

Parents, please be advised that at the start of the school year, a student's grade level may be reclassified based on the number of credits the student has earned. The information below shows how many credits students should earn to be considered in each grade level:

  • Freshman (9th grade): 0 to 4.5 credits earned
  • Sophomore (10th grade): 5.0 to 11.5 credits earned
  • Junior (11th grade): 12.0 to 17.5 credits earned
  • Senior (12th grade): 18.0 or more credits earned

There is one graduation plan approved by the State of Texas and Sheldon Independent School District. The State of Texas Foundation High School Program requires a total of 22 credits. Additionally, upon entering grade 9, each student selects one or more endorsement areas for an additional 4 credits. In Sheldon ISD, every student is expected to earn 26 eligible credits that are specific towards the program or endorsement and graduate on the Foundation High School Program with an endorsement.

For more specific information about what classes are needed for graduation and the specific credits that have been earned, please check the Skyward Parent Portal and review graduation requirements. Please contact your counselor for more information.

Due to consistent growth in student enrollment, the SISD administration has opened our new 9th grade campus which is located at 8530 C.E. King Pkwy (Formerly King Middle School). The only 9th graders who are still attending the C.E. King High School are either enrolled either in our Early College High School or STEM program.

This year, our "Meet the Panthers" is on August 11th, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. To avoid congestion in teachers' classrooms and long lines to receive your child's schedule, please adhere to your child's schedule for our Meet the Panthers Night:

4:00 to 5:00 p.m. All 10th graders (and ECHS & STEM 9th graders)

5:00 to 6:00 p.m. All 11th graders

6:00 to 7:00 p.m. All 12th graders
