WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS
SERMON TITLE AND SCRIPTURE FOR JULY 11 - FAITHFULNESS
Rev. Lynne Kammeraad's message this Sunday is titled "There Is No Law Against Faithfulness."
Galatians 5:22-23 "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law."
Matthew 25:14-29 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’ “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’ “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them."
COFFEE FELLOWSHIP IN THE BREEZEWAY
Coffee will be served every Sunday morning between the 8:00 and 9:30 am worship services in the breezeway. Our hope is to provide an opportunity for attendees of both services to get to know one another. The first Sunday of each month donut holes will be served as part of Celebration Sundays.
CHILDREN’S/YOUTH MINISTRY DIRECTOR
Greetings and blessings to my new CLP family! I’m so grateful to be at CLP as the new Children’s/Youth Ministry Director. I’ve been working with children and youth since I myself was a teenager; my very first job was in the church nursery when I was 16. I grew up in Florida, right near the space shuttle, and lived there until I was 23. My family, including my 108-year-old grandmother, still lives there. I’ve been blessed to have many experiences leading children and youth to include two summers as a camp counselor, and several positions in children and youth ministry spanning over the course of 12 years. I have had the privilege of leading 7 mission trips all over the country, and I just have to say, mission trips are my absolute favorite! I can’t wait until summer 2022 for our next mission trip! I currently live in Goodyear with my six children, Brynn (2), Lucas (10), Sarah and Olivia (12), Chloe (16) and Rosa (18). I’ve spent the last 7 years as a social worker/therapist working in addictions and most recently at the women’s prison here in Goodyear. I truly believe my life’s calling is simply to show God's love to others by accepting people for who they are, the same way Jesus accepts me. My time working with children and youth has formed some of the greatest memories of my life, and I can’t wait to make new memories with the children and youth at CLP as we experience God’s love together! Many blessings! ~Aimee Wickersham
MEMBERSHIP ORIENTATION IS JULY 18

SEARCHING FOR HISTORICAL PHOTOS
Our Historian is looking for pieces of our church’s history. If you have pictures (either digital or paper) of any of the following events, Meredeth Stucky would like copies. Particular events are: 2020 Confirmation Sunday; 2021 Outdoor Christmas Pageant in the parking lot; 2021 Christmas Eve Service in the south parking lot. For High School Graduations, she is looking for pictures and their descriptions of events for 2019, 2020, and 2021 (she already has pictures of the 2020 baccalaureate). Just a reminder, please don’t throw away any bits of church history. Send them to Meredeth so they can help fill in pieces of our story. If you have any questions, please contact Meredeth or call the church office at (623) 935-3411.
WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT HANDBELLS?
Have you ever wondered what it is like to ring a handbell? Have you ever wondered if you could ring in one of our handbell choirs? One does not have to read music. Marilyn will teach you how to do that, too. If you would like to learn how to play this beautiful instrument, please contact our Bell Master, Marilyn Chandler, or call our church office at (623) 935-3411. Don’t say you can’t play handbells; you won’t know for sure unless you try!

Do you love sharing God’s love with children? We would welcome additional teachers (in person and those willing to record lessons for children participating at home), classroom helpers, and people willing to help coordinate behind the scenes.
