A Note From Your Executive Director...

"If you stand up and be counted, from time to time you may get yourself knocked down. But remember this: A man flattened by an opponent can get up again. A man flattened by conformity stays down for good." -- Thomas J. Watson, Jr.

Principal Team,

We are now in the home stretch of the first semester of this school year! As you lead this week, answer the following questions & make BOLD LEADER MOVES where you see less than proficiency. (Answer to yourself & reflect)

  1. Are ALL classrooms posting proficient lesson objectives and demonstrations of learning?
  2. Is the actual instruction you see in ALL classrooms tightly aligned to a standard?
  3. Are students being assessed by teachers on a regular basis?
  4. Do you have school-wide systems in place for intervention and extra time and support for student learning?
  5. Are teachers maximizing classroom time? (Bell to Bell instruction/little down time)
  6. Are teachers receiving feedback on their instructional performance?
  7. Are teachers who are not yet proficient as measured by the SPOT process being given proper support in order to improve?
  8. Are you using ALL of your human resources on campus to impact student performance?

Now is the time to examine your leader moves and the leader moves of your assistant princpals to ensure that YOUR TEAM is exhibiting behaviors that will yield year end goals. FINISH THIS SEMESTER STRONG!

Thank you for your continued commitment to excellence! Here's to another great week of teaching and learning!
