Parent/Teacher Conferences:

Parent-teacher relationships are most effective when participants have frequent and open communication with each other and demonstrate mutual respect for each other’s role in a child’s life. When families are positively involved in their child’s education, the child will flourish. If you have not already done so, please plan on attending our second P/T conference on Thursday, February 11.

Our Encore, Roughriders, and Trailblazers Teams will hold first come-first serve conferences, while our Mavericks and Patriots Teams are holding conferences by appointment. If you would like to make an appointment for either the Maverick or Patriot teachers please visit the Albion Webpage , click on “Teams” on the top toolbar and select either Mavericks or Trailblazers.

Mustang Bowls:

Come join us for the final Mustang Bowls between Albion and Center Middle Schools! Our girls will face off against Center on Monday, February 8 at Strongsville High School. 7th grade will play first, beginning at 4:30 pm. Middle School Transition Parent Meetings:

The meetings will be held at the Strongsville High School auditorium at 6:00 pm for incoming 6th grade students and 7:00 pm for incoming 7th grade students.

Team Update:

The Patriot Team has started Third Quarter with a new incentive.During the Third Quarter, Patriot students will earn 1 Patriot Dollar for every assignment that they complete on time. They can cash in their dollars for incentives throughout the quarter. A calendar is posted in each classroom for students to view incentives and prioritize which ones they would like to “buy”. Incentives will consist of fun team-building activities such as dodgeball, basketball, and human foosball, as well as food and movies. We are excited for this to be a positive experience for everyone and are excited to see students rewarded for their outstanding work!!

The Patriot team was very fortunate and grateful to have the high school counselors come to visit with us on Friday morning, February 5. Students learned more about Strongsville High School, the courses that are offered and how credits & GPA’s are earned. The students had very thoughtful questions and enjoyed the presentation.

In the afternoon, we took a trip to the Polaris Career Center. The Patriot team enjoyed seeing all of the options that Polaris has to offer. Some of the student favorites were the Criminal Justice Program, the Aeronautics Program, the Medical Profession Program and the Digital Art and Design Program. Many students asked great questions and picked up brochures on individual programs offered.

Reflections of Strongsville:

On Feb 25, 2016, the City of Strongsville will celebrate its 200th birthday. Strongsville City Schools is partnering with the city in the birthday celebration in a number of ways. One way we are looking to support this birthday celebration is by working with interested administrators, teachers, and staff on a “Reflections of Strongsville” project. This may be a historical look at Strongsville, an essay on the evolution of Strongsville, an artistic endeavor highlighting Strongsville’s landmarks, or a historical view of our facilities. The ideas are endless and we would like your support. If you have an idea to share or you would like your school or students to participate in our “Reflections of Strongsville” project, please click here to share your insight. Those that participate may have the opportunity to have their work on display at our Strongsville Middle School community open house on Sept 11, 2016 where the Cleveland Pops will be performing in celebration of our city and new Strongsville Middle School!

Kiwanis Read Around the World:

The Kiwanis Club of Strongsville is sponsoring its annual Kiwanis Read Around the World program on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM at the Strongsville Community Library.
