Language Arts
This week's discussion and story focus has been about baby animals and how they are alike and different. Our sight words were for and have.
A few skills and activities that the kids worked on this week were manipulative the sounds in a word to create new ones (changing the f in "fan" to c which makes "can" or taking off the c and making "an"). The students always have fun blending words with the short u, a, and i along with consonants t and b and then writing them on white boards. We also talking about how to use their rereading skills to increase story comprehension.
Math
We began working on subtraction with numbers 1-10 this week! It is proving to be a little trickier for some than addition was but overall they are doing awesome! Below you will see pictures of the Kindergartners doing a fun subtraction partner activity using Goldfish crackers as manipulatives.
