Scholastic Book Fair

Our Scholastic Book Fair should be arriving for set up later this week! The book fair will be up and running next week. I will send home letters/flyers on Friday. Your students will visit during scheduled library times and I plan to hold extended hours on Thursday November 20th. It would be helpful if you have your students bring some paper and a pencil when they visit the book fair so they can write down any titles that aren't in the preview flyer.

Here's a link to some of the featured books for elementary level.

Reading with Usher

If you were unable to view Scholastic's live broadcast with Usher, you can watch it online. Usher encourages students, parents, and teachers to share their love of reading with others by making a difference in their schools and communities. Afterward, learn how to make a difference all year long through a series of calls to action from Usher. The first action is to vote for one of three leading nonprofit organizations that are providing books to the children in the United States and around the world who need them the most. The Scholastic Possible Fund will then donate 100,000 books, with each organization receiving a portion of the donation to distribute to kids in need. Voting ends Dec. 5th

I enjoyed watching Usher interact with students and really enjoyed the program and the message of "Possible".
