Biography
Matthew James "Matt" Bellamy (born 9 June 1978) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. He is best known as the lead vocalist, lead guitarist, pianist, and songwriter of rock band Muse. He is often recognised for his wide vocal range, and piano and guitar playing abilities. The band Muse consists of three members, Dominic Howard, Matt Bellamy, and Christopher Wolstenholme. The band was founded in 1994, when it went by the name "Rocket Baby Dolls," the band changed its name to Muse after they won the school's "Battle of the Bands" which led them to take the band more seriously. They decided to change their name to a more professional one. Their first album, Showbiz, was released in 1999 and they became the first band to sell out the Wembley Stadium in London. They have seven albums, Showbiz (1999), Origin of Symmetry (2001), Absolution (2003), Black Holes and Revelations (2006), The Resistance (2009), The Second Law (2012) and Drones (2015).
