Football Players and Cheerleaders Visit

We loved having the football players and cheerleaders on campus this morning! They received a lot of love from their littlest fans, and walked away with some homemade pictures and goodies. Football players and cheerleaders will return on Friday, September 14th, which is also Homecoming.

Running of The Vikings Tonight!

If your child is going to participate in tonight's Running of The Vikings, please make sure your child is on the north end of the field (by the Viking tunnel) at 6:50 pm. Cheerleaders will line students up according to grade. Students will run through the tunnel as soon as the football players leave the field (approximately 7:00 pm).

Parents as soon as your child is done running down the field, please head to the stadium seats so the field and sidelines are clear for the football team and coaching staff.

Football Game Reminders for Fans

Head over to LVHS tonight to cheer on the Varsity football team as they host the first home football game of the season. District administrators and staff will be enforcing the following expectations to ensure that all Viking fans enjoy the game:

1. All LVES students must be accompanied by an adult guardian in order to attend Lago Vista High School varsity football home games. The students must remain under the supervision of that guardian while at the stadium. Students are not permitted on the practice field at any point during football games.

2. Standing, loitering, or horseplay under and around the stadium stands, concession stands, or any other area is prohibited. Revealing, provocative and/or inappropriate dress will not be allowed, nor will inappropriate behaviors or foul language. Repeat offenders will be required to leave the stadium and campus.

3. Once inside the stadium, middle school and high school students with a student ticket will be allowed to sit in the designated student area on the home side of the stadium. Students may sit in the reserved or general admission sections only if they are under the supervision of an adult guardian.

4. The use of alcohol, controlled substances, tobacco, and electronic cigarettes are prohibited on school premises.

Lago Vista ISD appreciates everyone’s cooperation and support as we work to keep a safe and enjoyable environment at Viking football games.

Transportation Changes Reminders

If your child has registered for the after school ukulele class starting on Tuesday, September 4th, please make sure you call or email Mrs. Harris in the front office by noon on Tuesday with the change. Students who are registered for the class, but do not have a transportation change, will not be able to attend. Thank you so much for your help in making sure all students are accounted for at dismissal!

WatchDOG Kick-Off Event...

We are excited to have the WatchDOG program back again for the 2018-2019 school year. This is a wonderful volunteer opportunity for dads, grandfathers, uncles, and brothers to be a positive male role model for our Vikings by being an extra set of hands, eyes and ears in the classrooms and on campus. There will be an informational session on September 19th at 8:15 am for those interested in serving as a WatchDOG this year. Reservation forms are going home today in Friday folders with more information.

We LOVE having WatchDOGs at LVES and can't wait to have them back!

2018-2019 Yearbook

Welcome back! We are flying right out the gate with the 2018-2019 LVES yearbook. This year we are changing things up a bit in order to help streamline the yearbook process. Each theme or school event will have deadlines to submit photos. The first photo opportunity for yearbook is “Meet the Teacher” & “1st Day of School” photos. The deadline to submit for this page of yearbook & category of photos is Friday, August 24th. Stay plugged into the weekly online newsletter for yearbook announcements and deadlines. Email pictures to
Thanks for your support in yearbook as all proceeds support the staff and students of LVES!

Want to Volunteer?

We love volunteers at LVES! If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity at LVES (field trips, Room Parent, Watch DOG, Friday Folder Parent, PTO, etc), you must fill out a background check form. Background checks are done yearly, so even returning volunteers must complete a new form at the beginning of the year prior to volunteering on campus.

You can download the background check form by clicking on the link below:

Completed forms can be dropped at the LVISD Administration building located at 8039 Bar-K Ranch Road. Please allow at least 2 weeks for background checks to process.

Counselor's Corner

Hello LVES Families!

Our first week of class guidance lessons have been fun and full of us getting to know about each other, and what I can do as the school counselor for all students! It is important to me that students as well as parents understand my role as the counselor. The elementary years are a time when students begin to develop their self-concept and feelings of confidence as learners. They are beginning to develop decision-making and life skills, as well as character values. They also begin to form their attitudes toward school, self, peers, and family. My role as their school counselor is important to them, and by collaborating with teachers and parents, I am able to help all students in each of these areas. I also work to ensure that barriers to learning and skill development are removed, and that all students have equal access to a solid education.

Please reach out to me anytime you have concerns about your child, or if your child needs anything to help them become healthy and confident learners. We want all children to achieve academic success, and enjoy being at school!

Thank you!

Amy Sexton

¡Hola familias LVES!
