NTI Daily Newsletter for Bally
Updated: May 13, 2020
Thank you for partnering with us before Covid and after. Thank you for reaching out when you were confused, for letting us know when something was missing, and for just giving us the encouragement we needed on a down day. We recognized before and definitely now how very blessed we are to work in your community. Our community. Although this wasn't the ending we ever envisioned (and if you had a premonition I want your lottery numbers), but we all did the best we possibly could have. That's a win.
We will have gaps going into next year. We will have trauma. We will have stumbles. Together, we'll work through every success and failure. The staff will be closing out their rooms over the next two days and then they have four scheduled Covid 19 Emergency Days in which they will not work. Their grades are due on May 26th. We will notify you on the 27th when grades are final.
Over the summer we'll be in touch periodically, but not often. (What a relief for your poor email inbox!!) By July we should have clearer information about the opening of the 20-21 school year, 6th grade orientation, an so on. Until then, grab your summer reading books after you take a nice long brain break and we'll see everyone in August!
Sincerely,
The Ballyshannon Middle School Staff
8th Grade Dropoff/Pickup Cancelled for Friday Due to Weather
Updated Parade Routes for 2:30pm on Wednesday
We will make a straight shot down Ballyshannon and there's TONS of open space.
June and July: Summer Reading
We're asking our kids to read two books this summer. One by choice from a recommended list and one that will apply to their first unit in ELA for the upcoming year. This assignment is for current 5th, 6th, and 7th graders. 8th graders should consult their high schools.
We recommend spacing out the books. Encourage your kids to read one book before the end of June and one book before we start back to school. See graphic below for additional information. Books can be purchased on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc. If your family qualifies for free lunch, please contact Mrs. Bowles to request the book be bought for you.
