Buckingham Parent Survey - Your Opinion Needed!
As we begin our preparations for the summer, Buckingham Elementary is interested in learning how we (as a school and staff) might best serve our school community. To do so, Buckingham is sharing an online survey for parents which is being distributed the week of May 7th by your child’s teacher. The hope is to analyze each submission to better inform us in our planning and preparation for the 2018-2019 school year. As a District, there have been several surveys shared for parents to complete; This one is different as it is specific to Buckingham and created by Mr. Funseth. If you would be kind to complete, we would appreciate the feedback as we prepare for the coming school year. Thank you in advance for the information.

Bucks County Reading Olympics Competition: 8-Buckingham Teams Compete at Mill Creek!
On May 14, 2018 - The Bucks County Reading Olympics was held at Mill Creek Elementary where schools from all over the county held a friendly competition on their reading comprehension and recall. Buckingham Elementary brought 8-teams of almost 85-students from 5th and 6th grades to the event. Our students and teacher volunteers began meeting in November as they focused and celebrated reading in preparation for the big night! In addition to our teacher captains, Buckingham was well-represented by many Mighty Knight Teachers also acting as score-keepers or moderators! Congratulations to all 8-Buckingham Teams!

Buckingham's Participates in "Global Day of Design" - 5/4
Buckingham celebrated the Global Day of Design, which is a day set aside to celebrate the need for engineering, problem solving and design in student’s lives. All grade levels participated by building a product or creating a solution to a problem. K-4th grades' builds were inspired by a read aloud, which led to straw rockets, paper airplanes and their own mechanical designs. 5th and 6th grade were given a limited quantity of supplies and were tasked with engineering a device to support a tennis ball. All student creations were impressive and we look forward to celebrating this day next year!

Buckingham i-Run-4-Life "Gives Back" Program
This year's i-run-4-Life, not only jogs miles every Thursday, they make a difference to other school physical education programs! Our Buckingham i-Runners and families raised almost $900 towards purchasing athletic and recess supplies for the Thomas Mifflin School. Buckingham is thrilled and proud, we are so fortunate to be part of a wonderful and giving community.
Under the guidance and direction of Mrs. Yvette White, let's all congratulate and thank our students and families their good deeds and extra chores in order to help other children.
Our 1st Grade "Clean-Up Crew" Helps Beautify Buckingham!
Mrs. Kraus and a group of eager first graders discussed ways in which to “Keep America Beautiful.” This led to some great discussions about reducing, reusing, and recycling. The students made ChatterPix after reading, Michael Recycle, voicing their initiative to go outside to help tidy the grounds around our school. Mr. Thomson assistaed the “clean-up crew” who were equipped with gloves and some trash-grabbers. Thanks for helping to keep Buckingham and America clean - Thanks to Mrs. Kraus and the Clean-Up Crew!
