Tips from the Team
Outdoor Relaxation is Important Too!
For the month of May we are encouraging everyone to get outside, enjoy the outdoors, and be active. While staying active is important, so is relaxation. I can think of no better way to relax than sitting beside a good campfire.
Research demonstrates campfires can lower blood pressure, and greater lengths of time in front of those dancing flames increases the relaxation effect. Think back to the last time you were around a campfire. It seemed so simple, yet so hard to look away from, probably better described as mesmerizing actually.
Take advantage of these beautiful spring days and cool nights. Explore the outdoors. Grab a few sticks and a pack of matches. Empty your mind into the glowing embers of a small rip-roaring campfire. Feeling more on the energetic side? Forget the matches and just rub the sticks together. I'll say that counts as activity for the day. And always remember to practice good fire safety.
