Dear Ninety-One Community,
Our Kindergarten students are busy learning their numbers and are counting to 100! Mrs. Kirchhofer discovered this Thursday will be the 91st day of school this year. We are starting a new tradition. In honor of Ninety-One Day students are invited to write one thing they love about Ninety-One school on a heart shaped piece of paper. Here's a sneak peak and I look forward to sharing a photo of the final product, a photo of a bulletin board with the results. I just love these examples from 6th graders.
We are excited to launch our Reading Olympics this Friday! Please see more information below. Thank you to Mrs. Tamimi, Ms. Hillyer, Mr. Scheer and our 7th and 8th grade Student Assistants for organizing this great endeavor!
Also, this Friday is Pattern Day (wear polka dots, stripes, etc).
Go Bulldogs!
Warmly,
Joanna Tobin, Principal
Reading Olympics!!
Beginning this Friday, February 4th, our students will have a chance to participate in the 91 Reading Olympics! This coincides with the opening ceremonies of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. The purpose of the Reading Olympics is to generate excitement for reading and to emphasize a reading culture at our school. It will end on February 25th.
Each teacher will receive a classroom set of Olympic reading logs to send home in Friday Folders this week. Students will keep track of the minutes they read at home and will return their logs to Mrs. Tamimi or Ms. Hillyer as they reach their benchmarks and earn prizes for bronze, silver, gold and champion (kinder also has an extra easier level).
Thank you for supporting reading with us! Please encourage your students to participate and have fun “Going for Gold!”
