October is Bully Prevention Month

At La Mesa, we teach students to be UPSTANDERS.

One of our counselors, Steve Paterson, leads a month worth of activities and information sharing to make students aware.

The words courageous, action-oriented and assertive are very important for being an upstander! Being courageous means that you are willing to speak up for the person when he or she is being bullied or called names. Students can send the meanings to the other two words to Mr. Paterson. They can also give him an example of something that they have done to be an upstander. His email is spaterson@hartdistrict.org.

new library books. Make sure your child stops by our library catalog to reserve their books.
