Happy October! We know, it feels like February. We hope everyone is staying healthy. We continue to appreciate all the efforts of our La Mesa families to make distance learning successful for students. Please reach out to us with any issues impacting your child. Contact information for counselors and administrators s below. We are here to help.
We hope all of our students enjoy the Fall Break and the day off on Monday. If they have fallen behind, be sure to schedule some catch up time. The first quarter grading period ends October 16th.
Michele Krantz, Principal
Schedule for the Week of October 5th, 2020:
October is Bully Prevention Month
At La Mesa, we teach students to be UPSTANDERS.
One of our counselors, Steve Paterson, leads a month worth of activities and information sharing to make students aware.
The words courageous, action-oriented and assertive are very important for being an upstander! Being courageous means that you are willing to speak up for the person when he or she is being bullied or called names. Students can send the meanings to the other two words to Mr. Paterson. They can also give him an example of something that they have done to be an upstander. His email is email@example.com.
Check out this link to Teen Truth, the amazing organization led by JC Pohl. Please check it out and encourage your child to be kind!
Library Book Curbside Pickup
Because Monday is not a school day, you will have to wait until Wednesday to pick up any
new library books. Make sure your child stops by our library catalog to reserve their books.
Reservations for Wednesday pickup can be placed any time between now and Tuesday
evening. Happy Reading!
