HALLOWEEN TREAT
Student Race & Ethnicity Data Collection
You will have or have already received a reminder letter if you have not yet completed the online form in Family Access.
There will be a final attempt to gather the information after Thanksgiving. If there is no response, schools are required to make the ethnicity and race selection for the student.
We are required by federal and state law to ask families to verify their child as either Hispanic/Latino or not Hispanic/Latino AND by one or more of 217 racial groups. We ask that families please respond to the two questions in Family Access for each of their students currently enrolled.
Please see OSPI Observer Identification guidelines at https://www.k12.wa.us/sites/default/files/public/cedars/pubdocs/guidelinesobserveridentification-newethnicityracecodes.pdf
MSD DATA CENTER down
(October 27th message from the Monroe School District.)
Hello Monroe Staff and Community,
We have recently received communications from a contractor performing work in the Monroe School District that due to the project scope of work, we will need to shut down our main data center. The data center will be shut down starting at 6pm on Friday, Oct. 29th with service being restored on Saturday, Oct. 30th after 4pm. Here is how this affects all users:
Everyone in a district facility:
Phones (desktop), Internet access, Gmail, Google Drive, Printing, Access to network drives (i.e. U: drive), Canvas, Skyward, etc. will NOT be available at any of our district schools and locations using the district network. This will not affect cellular service.
Students everywhere:
No matter their location, student Chromebooks will not work during this outage window.
District Staff:
Staff will still have access to Gmail, Google Drive, Canvas, and Skyward if they are working from home or anywhere outside of a district facility.
Thanks for your patience during this project window!
