Dropping Courses
Students dropping a year long course at this point in the year are not able to switch into another year long course. Dropping a level, from Honors to Academic, may be possible if space permits. The deadline to drop a course without penalty, meaning not showing on the transcript, will be November 21st. Courses dropped beyond this date with show as a Withdraw Pass(WP) or Withdraw Fail(WF) on the transcript. The WP or WF is not calculated in the GPA and will not impact GPA. Dropping from a DE course will follow the specific college’s procedure for their college transcript(separate from the RRHS transcript).
Junior Parents
On December 7th we will be having Junior Parent night to prepare students/parents for life beyond high school virtually at 7pm. This is based on the preferences parents selected from last week’s survey. We will send out a link soon.

Career Center News!
Now that the November 1 college application deadline for a lot of universities is behind us, there are still universities with Early Action and Regular Decision deadlines, such as December 1 and December 15.
Quick facts:
- Counselors have process over 1500 transcripts!
- 66% of our seniors have applied to a 4 year college.
Students that have applied already should be focusing their attention to scholarship application that aren't part of the automatic admission notification. Please see the list of scholarships, such as Amazon Engineering Scholarship and VA Residents specific University of Michigan Scholarships.
Ensure to meet with your counselor if you haven't done it yet. It is an important step to ensure you stay on track. Counselors will require materials to be submitted to them three weeks BEFORE the deadline.
Don't put all your eggs in the same basket. Diversity your list of colleges. You should split your list into three categories: safety schools, match schools and reach schools. Your list should be a mixture of all three categories to help increase your odds of acceptance.
